The Brotherhood called “ Brotherhood of the Virgin Mary of the Belt” has been created since XVI century and it was enovated during the Holy Year 2000 under this name” Brotherhood of the Virgin Mary of the Belt and of the Saints Augustine and Rita”; it has its centre at St Augustine’s Monastery in Cascia. Like a “ secular brotherhood “, this brotherhood is part of the Augustinian Order ( Laws O.S.A: n° 48) and it is guided according to the rules of Canonic Right ( Canoni 312-320), the general rules of the secular Augustinian Brotherhoods and according to its actual Charter.
The main essential goal of the Brotherhood is a path of laic Sanctity characterized by four levels of task:

Christian formation;

Promotion of the augustinian ideal of life;

Service;

Charity.
