Mary Teresa was born in Torriglia(Geneva)
on December 27th 1881. Immediately
in her little soul the Christian
Grace of the Baptism and the generous
strenth of the Genoese race gather
in order to become the foundation
of her personality.She was educated
by the Gianelline’s Nuns and
this was a presage for her future.
The monastic ideal took her heart,
but she had to pray and suffer many
years, before she could understand
which path God had reserved to her
life.
Saint Rita’s Monastry welcomed
her postulanting when she was 25 on June
6th 1906. On solemn and meaningful atmosphere
of the Christmas night, she offered her
youth to God, wearing the Augustinian
habit, and the following year in the
same solemnity, she confirmed her religious
vows.
Since 1914, she was an example for the
monastry novices. From 1917 to 1920,
the trust of the other nuns made her
Prioress. From 1920 till her death, with
unanimuos approval, years after years
, the nuns chosed her as their Abbess
and she became known as “ the Mother”.
